Hakko FR870B-81 (made in Japan) is a preheater designed to heat printed circuit boards (PCBs) from below.
Input voltage: FR870B-81 is the version that uses 100V AC voltage.
Power consumption: 500W (for 100V version).
The main function of this device is to heat the entire circuit board, making the soldering and removing of electronic components easier and more efficient.

Power: Controls output power in percentage (from 0 to 100%).
Thermocouple: Temperature control using thermocouple.
Soldering and Desoldering Support: This device is especially useful when working with medium to high volume circuit boards, which have a large heat dissipation capacity and can “suck” a lot of energy from the soldering iron or heat gun, making soldering difficult. By preheating the circuit board, the FR870B-81 makes it easier to reach the necessary temperature for soldering.
Supports Pb-free soldering: When soldering lead-free components, the required temperature is higher than that of conventional soldering. FR870B-81 helps provide additional heat, ensuring the quality of the solder joint.
Component Repair: This device quickly and evenly heats the entire circuit board, making it ideal for repairing or adding components to multi-layer circuit boards, which require greater heat resistance.
Create a clean working environment: Because it uses non-contact infrared heating method, the device does not pollute the air, suitable for industrial applications that require a clean working environment.
Infrared heating: Using high efficiency carbon fiber heater, helps to heat up the entire work surface quickly and evenly.
2-zone heating system: There are two independent heating zones that can be switched, saving energy by only heating one part of the circuit board.
Multiple operating modes: Supports manual or automatic heating modes, allowing users to control heat output based on power or using a thermocouple sensor.
Compact design: Has a compact desktop design, does not take up much space.
Six carbon heaters preheat the whole board immediately after turning the power on. Full-board heating and quick temperature ramping get the job done quickly when reworking or mounting post-production components to multilayer substrates that require greater thermal capacity. As it does not contaminate the air, the FR-870B also offers powerful support for a clean workplace environment in industrial applications.
Auto mode step-heating method (maximum of three steps/step 1 to 3) heats PWBs slowly and evenly, letting you transmit 100% of the heat energy from a rework system and soldering iron. You'll never be forced to work with a higher set temperature due to insufficient heat again.
Power mode lets you control heater output using settings from 0% to 100%
Once the temperature of the sensor attached to the board reaches the set temperature, the heater is on-off controlled so that the board temperature can be maintained at the set temperature.
Once a PWB is positioned, boards of the same dimensions can be removed or attached in a single motion. This design greatly supports continuous work.
