SOIL NUTRITION
Soil pH ranges from pH 5.5 to 7.5, which is adequate for most plants; however, some species prefer more acidic or alkaline environments. However, all plants grow within a specific pH range. pH strongly influences the availability of nutrients and the presence of microorganisms and plants in the soil. The three macronutrients most required by plants are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). Other elements, known as trace elements, are usually present in sufficient amounts in the soil because plants only require them in smaller doses.
