CHLORINE IN CLEAN WATER

Chlorine is a common chemical used by many people due to its disinfecting, oxidizing and bleaching properties. In swimming pools, drinking water and food processing chlorine is used to disinfect and prevent bacterial growth. In metal finishing it is used as an oxidizing agent to convert cyanide in wastewater into cyan while in the pulp and paper industry it is used to bleach wood pulp to make paper white.
