The HI766B is a K connector surface temperature probe with handle designed for use with a handheld thermometer. A 1 m cable is supplied from the handle to connect the meter to the probe. The flat probe surface with a diameter of 16 mm allows the user to measure highly accurate temperatures in furnaces, molds and other high temperature solid surfaces.

The HI766B Type K Surface Temperature Probe with Handle is designed to measure temperature of hard surface, difficult to measure high temperature. The response time of a measurement is affected by the position of the sensor surface relative to the surface being measured. The HI766B is designed to measure flat surfaces with a response time of 8 seconds. Constructed of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the HI766B probe can measure surfaces up to 650°C (1200°F).
